JD Wetherspoon (JDW) said like-for-like sales for the six-month period ending this Sunday will be 5.1 per cent higher than last year, in line with expectations, but ahead of a broader pub sector that Panmure Gordon estimates has grown at 3.1 per cent.
Total sales will come in slightly lower at 4 per cent as the company continues to trim pub numbers. It has opened two pubs so far this year, but sold six, finishing the period with 796.
