What rising house prices mean for the UK economy

House prices move slowly. After all, moving house is a slow process: Zoopla estimates that it takes around 12 weeks on average from making an offer on a house to moving in. Given that the first Bank of England (BoE) rate cut only took place in August, the impact isn’t fully reflected in house price figures – yet.
